Food in Florence

Since we are only in Florence for a short amount of time, and the places on our itinerary that we are visiting have all been blogged about, I decided to do my post on something everyone loves: food. Although we are there for a short time, we will have to eat and it is always nice to know which places are best and have the most culture within the restaurant.

Rated number one on Yahoo travel is Trattoria del Quattra Leoni, best known for its amazing pasta and homely atmosphere. Almost all of the reviews contained four to five stars for each category: service, food, ambience and value. This restaurant was quoted several times as “the best”, especially in comparison to other restaurants throughout Italy. The menu holds wholesome traditional cuisines, starting with cheese and vegetable based appetizers and is followed quality entrées that “makes you cry out from joy”.

Next is the Yellow Bar, which is an Americanized restaurant popular among young people, due to their long hours and comfort. With a menu ranging from homemade Italian specials to classic hamburgers and a chaotic, friendly inviting atmosphere. With a wide variety of options off the menu and a welcoming ambience, this restaurant is appealing to anyone from anywhere.

Casalinga is next on the list, offering different meals for a great value price. Although the menu is uncomplicated, it is prepared divinely to satisfy everyone’s taste buds, including classic Tuscan dishes and homemade cantuccini. This restaurant maintains a vibrant, family oriented atmosphere, helping promote their homemade, family style food. Several reviews excessively brag about Casalinga, describing it as “the first and most authentic place I take visitors to”.
